When the weather is nice, both walking students and those that commute are motivated to get to campus on foot... What about when the weather is icy and terrible? This inevitably brings more cars to campus creating parking wars, students arriving late and some that won't show at all. One of my professors last winter actually excused those students commuting to campus who were uncomfortable driving on ice. Bad weather conditions should reaffirm the need for some sort of public transportation even if it is more heavily used in the cold or ice. |
