I'm a daily pedestrian to and from campus and live about a mile away on College Heights Rd. My walk starts out on the street since there isn't a sidewalk. When I get to a sidewalk, it is right along the street's edge, the sidewalk pavement is often broken or difficult to walk along because of debris and overgrown weeds. Things get better when the sidewalk widens out in the front of the fraternities. Most of the properties until then are rentals that are not well-maintained. I encourage the consultants to talk with the city planners, codes office, etc. to see how we can partner to make the pedestrian experience a better one so that more people are encouraged to walk to work. It helps with the parking problem and it's healthier!
