Just an idea, that may or may not be of value: To move pedestrian traffic down certain sidewalks/corridors, post various arrow signs on poles at strategic sidewalk intersections. I'm thinking of european style signs on a single pole with some sort of arrows pointing in the direction of various major buildings, with perhaps an approx walking time.
